Advisory Board
The Food as Medicine Summit Advisory Board is composed of leading experts with hands-on experience in nutritional security, medically tailored meals, produce prescriptions, evidence-based diets, program implementation and measurement, and more. Drawing from their expertise and extensive professional networks, advisory board members help shape a dynamic, solutions-driven agenda—ensuring forward-thinking discussions, practical recommendations, and fresh ideas to drive real change in the Food as Medicine movement.
2025 Summit Advisory Board Members:

Maycie Elchoufi, Physician Executive, Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Humana
Dr. Maycie Elchoufi is board-certified in Internal Medicine and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She has an extensive and diverse background in clinical practice ranging from inpatient hospital setting to outpatient primary care in a variety of models. Dr. Elchoufi is also a physician entrepreneur and founded a successful medical practice specializing in obesity treatment and rooted in lifestyle medicine principles. She is passionate about food and nutrition, and she has completed the Culinary Medicine Certification program at Tulane University. She is continuing her journey by earning additional certification through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Dr. Elchoufi currently works as a medical director at Humana, a where she has served as a subject matter expert on a variety of topics including obesity, lifestyle medicine, and health equity.

Ipyana Spencer, Chief Health Officer, Meals on Wheels America
Ipyana is the Chief Health Officer with Meals on Wheels America. In her role, she oversees the development and growth of Meals on Wheels Health, a newly created division of Meals on Wheels America that partners with health care payors and health systems to expand the impact and scope of local Meals on Wheels services to seniors and vulnerable adults who are managing multiple chronic conditions or recovering from recent hospitalizations.
Ipyana comes to Meals on Wheels America with more than 20 years of diverse, cross industry experience across the legislative, public policy, health care and data analytics arenas.

Dan Ripma, Vice President, Food & Agriculture, S2G Investments
Dan is a Vice President on the Food & Agriculture Investment team at S2G Investments. Dan’s portfolio work ranges across food as health, novel ingredients, and agriculture. His responsibilities include sourcing, analyzing new investments, financial modeling, due diligence, deal process execution, and portfolio company monitoring.

Martin Tull, Chief Impact Officer, American College of Lifestyle Medicine
Martin Tull is a strategist and systems thinker who designs collaborative solutions to complex problems. As the Chief Impact Officer of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, Martin advises ACLM's strategic and community partners on imagining, funding, piloting, and scaling innovative impact projects and campaigns that improve human health and grow the field of Lifestyle Medicine. With an executive leadership background in environmental sustainability and the outdoor recreation industry, Martin previously served as the Founding Executive Director of the Green Sports Alliance, transforming it into an international coalition of hundreds of professional and collegiate sports teams integrating sustainable practices. Martin has facilitated workshops globally and spoken at numerous prestigious events, including The White House Sports & Sustainability Summit, Sustainable Brands, the Global Impact Institute, and the Clinton Global Initiative. Recognized for his contributions, Martin has received accolades such as Good Magazine’s 100, Pivotal Leader, and the Portland Business Journal 40 under 40 award.

Naomi Parrella, Chief, Lifestyle Medicine, Rush University System for Health
Dr. Parrella is the Chief of Lifestyle Medicine at Rush University and the Medical Director of Rush University's Weight Loss and Lifestyle Medicine Clinics. As a physician specializing in obesity medicine, she is board-certified by both the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Obesity Medicine. Dr. Parrella is also the Chief Medical Officer at Zero, a digital platform supporting over 1 million active users per month, interested in fasting and metabolic health. A nationally recognized expert, Dr. Parrella is known for integrating clinical excellence with innovative programming to inspire and educate diverse audiences. She has presented to over 25,000 people at United Airlines, facilitated global discussions for R1 Revenue Cycle Management, and led wellness and leadership development workshops at institutions like Rush University Medical Center and the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Parrella’s mission is to improve lives by connecting people to their healthiest selves through evidence-based, holistic approaches. She designs and scales medical weight management programs, facilitates leadership development, and consults with organizations to enhance performance, engagement, and well-being. Her work bridges the gap between clinical practice and community empowerment, making her a sought-after speaker and consultant in health, wellness, and performance optimization.

Melanie Hall, Chief Research & Innovation Officer, Feeding America
At the helm of Feeding America's research and innovation team, Melanie Hall champions data-informed decision making and innovative solutions that ensure everyone has the food they need to thrive. She holds a Master's in Nutrition Communications from Tufts University, a Bachelor's in Nutrition Science from UC Berkeley, and believes food to be the great equalizer that far too many people don’t have access to. Her extensive experience developing impactful cross-sector solutions includes: nutrition marketing campaigns for SNAP-eligible families; nutrition education resources, product innovation, and merchandising strategies that increased WIC participation; and commercial marketing practices that increased access to natural and organic foods. In her role at Feeding America, she drives research and innovation initiatives that deepen our collective understanding of food insecurity in America, and leads her team in collaborating with Feeding America’s network of 200 food banks to create and scale new pathways to nutritious foods across the country.
